Home Rekey

One key for every door.

A rekey changes the pins inside the locks you already have, which is the fast and undramatic way to settle the question of who can open your front door. The hardware stays. The keys change.

From the phone call to a single new key

A rekey is quieter work than people expect and it does not mean new hardware on every door. This is how the visit actually runs.

  1. What we ask on the phone

The doors, and the reason. If a key is genuinely out there somewhere - dropped in a parking lot, handed back by someone you'd rather not think about - that changes how fast this needs doing, and we'll say so.

  2. Proving the home is yours

Something that shows you live there. Seconds, and it's the whole basis of the visit.

  3. Rekeying or replacing

Where a cylinder is worn or the door has moved, that is said plainly and you choose. Otherwise the existing locks simply take a new key.

  4. One key, and what else gets checked

You leave with one key that works everywhere it should, plus a note of anything on the doors worth keeping an eye on - not a sales list, just the things the technician noticed while he was there.

Ask for the doors to be keyed alike unless you have a reason not to. One key is the single biggest improvement most homes can make.
